NBA shooting guard Jason “J-Rich” Richardson has enjoyed a lively career since his first pro basketball year in 2001. His reputation as an NBA All-Star slam dunker took him all over the country, playing for the Golden State Warriors (2001-2007), Charlotte Bobcats (2007-2008), Phoenix Suns (2008-2010), and now Orlando Magic.

Unfortunately, selling his home in Oakland has been everything but a slam dunk. Public records show the price of Richardson’s Oakland homehas seen five cuts since it first hit the market for $3.1 million in March 2008. The 5,437-sq ft mansion has been listed for a fourth time with a new asking price of $1.95 million – a gut-wrenching 37 percent price reduction from the original listing price. Price cuts aren’t only happening to Oakland’s rich and famous, though. According to Zillow Real Estate Market Reports, 32.8 percent of Oakland real estate listings have been reduced in price in the last 30 days. This is up 13.9 percent since January 2010.

Richardson’s former home is a gorgeous Mediterranean-style house tucked behind a gated cul-de-sac of homes in Oakland’s Montclair neighborhood. The 5 bedroom, 4.5 bathroom estate includes a cook’s kitchen, office with a fireplace, elevator, media room, luxurious master suite with spa, and multiple terraces offering expansive city and mountain views.
