I find this Architectural Digest compilation of houses of Cher from the 1970s to date very interesting (link to full feature). Not necessarily because they represent styles I like the best (her style is maybe a bit over the top sometimes), but because you can see how her style has evolved over time.
My favourite of the houses featured over time would definitely be this adobe villa in Aspen, Colorado - more laid back and earthly than the usual sensual overflow of patterns and accessories - and the location might have something to do with the choice also.

The mansion legendary Elvis used to share with his Priscilla in Beverly Hills is now offered for rent for $25000 a month. Trousdale Estate, a French Regency-style estate was built in 1958 and has city-to-ocean views. This gated compound is over 5100 sq ft (470 m2) and the interior is light and airy consisting of mainly white tones.
But looking at the side gate with Elvis memorial scribbings makes you wonder if the tenants need to deal with the nuisance of sometimes too eager fans of the legend?

Zsa Zsa Gabor's Bel Air mansion has entered the real estate market and what a mansion it is. It is decorated on French regency style and features a lot of antiques. And even the walls seem to have been painted in regal colour palettes. But there is something missing from this decor - the typical large area rugs - I only managed to spot one rug in the whole house.
The images of the property look pretty good, but according to the realtor the house is "waiting for you to remodel it". I wonder if that means the rooms we haven't been able to see such as the kitchen and bathrooms? Apparently the price tag has dropped from $28M to $15M, so I guess that allows quite a large renovation "budget" for the prospectove buyer to bring the house back into expected modern standards...
Harry Potter author J K Rowling has bought a lovely historical mansion in Tasmania, Australia. This Georgian mansion comes with over 2100 acres of farmland.
The house itself has seven bedrooms and a self-contained wing, and the landscaped gardens lead to the river. As it is still a working farm, there are plenty of outbuildings and even grain silos. Beautiful although a bit isolate location - but it seems to fit the style of the author, as she is known for not wanting to be in the spotlight very often.
This Studio City house in California certainly is pretty nice one for a young girl and described as the perfect celebrity hideaway when it comes to location. The one-story mid-century construction still looks contemporary and the decor has been brought up to date. There is also that lovely outdoor-indoor feel with floor to ceiling height windows, which can be opened to access the terraces surrounding the house. The house appears to open up to the saltwater pool-jacuzzi area, thus creating a cozy backyard pocket which looks great.
I am wondering if I am seeing correct that the powder room sink area has lights embedded in the table - if that is the case it is pretty cool detail! I liked the house even the way it was decorated in these pictures, but Miley's style has been described a bit quirky, so I would loved to see how she kitted it out...
Oh la la what a house. Designer Vera Wang has recently bought this amazing (both in terms of the views and the current decor) house from interior designer Steven Hermaan (who in turn bought it from Burt Reynolds).
I love this kind of simple and streamlined houses with floor to ceiling windows and open space. Shiny white floor tiles, contrast of black and white in decor, a dash of oriental feel... Love, love, love is what I think about about this house! Since Vera Wang has been desiging things other than wedding dresses lately I wonder how she is going to decorate this contemporary house...
