Carole King's Rustic Idaho Ranch

Singer Carole King has put her remote central Idaho ranch on the market. She's had this hideaway for 29 years and is now ready to part with it for $16M (£9.9 m). If you are a pine lover this is your heaven, but otherwise maybe a bit of overkill. A summerhouse yes, but permanent living? It just feels too much like a holiday cottage.

I am not so familiar with the Idaho market, but the price tag seems a bit steep despite the 129 acres of (remote) land and the restored two-story lodge of over 7300 sq ft (680 m2). Maybe this place will become a some sort of artists retreat since there is also a recording studio, two other houses, 8 cabins, a couple of pools and equestrian facilities...

This house some great green qualities though - there are wood burning fireplaces to heat the house in addition to the natural geothermal springs that are used to heat two pools, the recording studio and main home year round!
