Kara DioGuardi who has penned songs for some of the biggest names in the music industry, was recently selected to be a judge on the eighth season of American Idol. DioGuardi will become the hit show's 4th judge alongside original judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and her longtime friend Paula Abdul.

In her song writing and producing career, DioGuardi has worked with recording artists such as Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion, Kelly Clarkson, Ricky Martin, Pink, Carlos Santana, Enrique Iglesias, Hilary Duff, Carrie Underwood, Lindsay Lohan, Miley Cyrus, and many more.

Kara DioGuardi is also Senior VP of A&R at Warner Brothers Records.

In July of 2003, the native New Yorker purchased a condo at the 12-story Campiello Collection, located in New York City's Chelsea neighborhood. The Campiello Collection opened in 2003. "Campiello" is Italian for "small field" or "shaded courtyard."

The 2,002 square ft. unit currently has an appraised value of just over $3 million.

In late July of 2004, DioGuardi was again opening up her check book for another real estate deal - this time on the west coast. DioGuardi purchased a three bedroom, five bath home on El Contento Drive in Los Angeles for $1,199,000. The home was built in 1964 and has 2,736 square feet.
